With dyslexia, writing and finishing a story feels like an impossible task for children and parents. It’s an established fact that writing stories takes 2-3x as long for individuals with dyslexia and often the story isn’t properly finished.
The thought of writing a story in exam conditions can seem impossible. The problem is your child probably has great stories to share but they are using the school’s standard way of planning stories that simply don’t fit their imaginative and visual minds.
Unfortunately, getting a hyper-creative individual with dyslexia or ADHD to write a story outline isn’t as easy as writing a bullet point list or following a linear scaffold.
